Dale Kooyenga Wins State Assembly Seat in the 14th District

Brookfield, WI - Dale Kooyenga will be the next Representative for Wisconsin’s 14th Assembly District. The District includes the Village of Elm Grove and portions of the Cities of Brookfield, Wauwatosa, West Allis, and Milwaukee.

There were a total of six Republican candidates in the race. Because there are no Democrats running, Kooyenga will assume the seat and run unopposed in the November election.

"I congratulate the other candidates for a well-run campaign. It was a pleasure getting to know them throughout this process," Dale said. "I want to thank all of our supporters and especially my wife, Jennifer, for believing in me and helping to spread our message. I am humbled and excited for this opportunity to represent the citizens of the 14th Assembly District. I reaffirm my pledge not to raise taxes, to reduce government spending, and to achieve a smaller, more efficient government."

Dale will take over the seat being vacated by Leah Vukmir, who is running for State Senate in the 5th District. "Dale worked hard and earned the trust of the voters," said Vukmir. "He will work just as hard to keep that trust and will represent the citizens of the 14th District admirably."

Dale is ready to hit the ground running and will assume his office when the next Legislature begins its session in January 2011.
