Construction Management (BSCM)

Build Your Career with a Construction Management Degree

A Bachelor of Science in Construction Management (BSCM) from ÌÇÐÄapp in Scranton, PA opens the door to a wide range of professional opportunities in the architecture, engineering, and construction industries. With a construction management degree, students are prepared to become certified construction managers and pursue leadership roles in one of the fastest-growing sectors of the built environment.

Marywood’s Sordoni Construction Management Program is the only four-year Construction Management program in Northeast Pennsylvania and is currently an applicant for accreditation by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE). To become a Certified Construction Manager (CCM), the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) requires a combination of an accredited Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) degree, Responsible in Charge (RIC) experience hours, and certification exams administered by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI).

This four-year construction management degree is designed for students who want to lead construction projects, oversee site logistics, manage teams, and coordinate complex building systems. Whether your goal is immediate employment or advanced study in related fields, this program provides the essential foundation.

Students who complete the BSCM program may also be eligible for 25 credits of advanced standing in Marywood’s Master of Interior Architecture program – an ideal option for continuing your education with a focus on interior environments and integrated project delivery.

Marywood’s program stands out for its hands-on learning environment. Students take courses in Marywood’s brand-new Building Technology labs and study inside a LEED Gold-certified facility that features rainwater harvesting, geothermal cooling, and a green roof – connecting course content to real-world sustainability practices.

Our program equips students with the technical, business, and communication skills needed to manage the construction of the built environment from concept to completion. The curriculum includes:

Students also benefit from shared coursework with peers in Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Virtual Architecture, fostering a collaborative, interdisciplinary experience.

In addition to the full major, students interested in expanding their skills may pursue a Construction Management minor – an excellent complement to degrees in Architecture, Business, or Environmental Studies.
